Anyone interested in participating in tree planting along the Richmond River?
Ballina Shire Council together with the Boolangle Landcare Group (Life Members of Richmond Landcare Inc), EnviTE and Richmond Valley Council intend to have a full day of tree planting on 9 October, 2008 at the Queen Elizabeth Park Casino. The area is adjacent to the Richmond River approximately 1km downstream of the Centre Street / Summerland Hwy Bridge. The area is approximately 100m long x 80m wide. Further details of the location will be supplied closer to the time.

The day will start at 9.00am with EnviTE, Landcare Groups, Richmond Valley Council staff and the local Casino Boolangle Landcare Group to begin the preparation for tree planting, mulching, watering etc. The local business community will then participate in tree planting between 11.00am - 2.00pm with lunch served during this time.

All plants and equipment will be supplied. So just bring yourselves, hats, water bottles, sunblock, suitable clothing and footwear and ENJOY the day in the SUNSHINE (yes it will be sunny).
