Dyraaba
Creek Landcare Inc was formed in November 2003. The founding
members of Dyraaba Creek Landcare Inc are three farming families
whose properties border on five kilometres of Pigman Creek, which
is an upper tributary of Dyraaba Creek, and Forests NSW, a State
Government corporation with forestry interests in the Dyraaba
locality.The Dyraaba
locality, in the vicinity of Dyraaba Creek, prior to World War
1 was mainly made up of Dyraaba Station, a large Hereford breeding
property owned by the Barnes families for many decades.
After the
First World War, the "Station" was significantly reduced in area,
creating "soldier settlement" blocks of about 500 acres each.
